She tried to take her dead uncle to the bank to get a loan: The woman speaks out for the first time!

The incident occurred on April 16 in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

43-year-old Erika de Souza Vieira Nunes had attempted to take her deceased uncle in a wheelchair to the bank to take out a loan. However, when the man could not sign the papers in front of him, it was realized that he had passed away.

The footage in question made global headlines, and Nunes was taken into custody, with an investigation launched against her.

It was learned that Nunes, who is being investigated for 'desecrating a corpse and attempted theft,' could also face charges of involuntary manslaughter.

SHE SPEAKS OUT FOR THE FIRST TIME

Speaking to the Brazilian media after the incident, the woman said, "The days I spent away from my family were terrible, very difficult. I did not realize my uncle was dead. What people are saying is absurd. I am not the person people are talking about; I am not a monster."
