Striking claim about Turkey-Russia relations from Chinese media! 'Putin will be uncomfortable with these developments'

The China-based media outlet Tencent has drawn attention to a development that has increased tensions between Ankara and Moscow. 

According to the report in Sözcü; the reason for this is cited as Ankara's decision to allow the passage of Sandown-class minehunter ships used by the United Kingdom's navy through the Turkish Straits.

While the Chinese media wrote that this step taken by Turkey regarding the Black Sea and the Straits has drawn a reaction from Russia, it stated, "This situation is an important turning point for the complex relationship between Turkey and Russia." Noting that this move by Turkey, which closed the Straits to warships using the Montreux Convention, was a "surprise," the Chinese media included the remarks, "Turkey's decision to allow the passage of the Sandown-class ship was a thoughtless step against Russia. It seems the Russian President will be very uncomfortable with this development." 

"TURKEY STABBED RUSSIA IN THE BACK"

On the other hand, while it was also recalled that Turkey allows the passage of Russian warships under certain conditions, the claim was also put forward that, "Russian officials have chosen not to respond publicly to this development. It appears Moscow is intentionally avoiding escalating this tension. It is likely that Putin is angered by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's moves and will demand an answer during their one-on-one meetings." The Chinese media also used the phrase, "Turkey stabbed Russia in the back."

It was also reported that the international community will be closely monitoring the moves of Turkey and Russia.
