The meeting, which was held behind closed doors, began at 11:37 local time.
Al-Sharaa entered the White House through a side entrance not visible to the press, rather than the main gate of the West Wing where journalists were stationed, and no official welcoming ceremony was held for him.
While details of the meeting were not shared, diplomatic sources stated that the two leaders would discuss issues such as the reconstruction of Syria, regional security, the return of refugees, and economic cooperation.
