THY announces: Syria closes its doors to citizens of those two countries
In an announcement made by Turkish Airlines (THY), it was reported that flights to the Syrian capital, Damascus, will begin on January 23. The announcement stated that citizens of two specific countries will not be transported to Damascus.
Turkish Airlines (THY) will operate reciprocal flights to the Syrian city of Damascus three days a week, starting again on January 23. Citizens of Iran and Israel will not be accepted on these flights.
The first Damascus flight will be operated on Thursday, January 23, at 09:00 from Istanbul Airport using a wide-body Airbus A330-203 type aircraft.
Direct flights will be organized from Istanbul Airport to Damascus International Airport on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 09:00. Return flights from Damascus Airport to Istanbul Airport will also be carried out on the same days at 13:00.
