Trump denies reports on Venezuela and bomber aircraft
US President Donald Trump has denied claims that the American military sent B-1 bombers to the waters off the coast of Venezuela.
US President Trump addressed the debates surrounding the US's increased military buildup in the Caribbean during an event held at the White House.
Responding to a question regarding a report in the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) claiming that the US had sent B-1 bombers to the coast of Venezuela, Trump replied, "That is not true. No, that is false."
The US President emphasized that they are not at all pleased with Venezuela's actions regarding "drug trafficking" and that they will continue to "fight" against drug cartels in the Caribbean.
Noting that they are also dissatisfied with the Venezuelan administration, Trump argued that the country is also sending illegal immigrants to the US and that the (former US President) Joe Biden administration knowingly allowed this.
Trump stated, "Our borders are now closed. Actually, for the last four months, I think five months, no one has come. Now, the people coming into our country are only coming through legal channels."
