The US Senate has rejected a resolution calling for President Donald Trump to end military operations against Iran.
In the vote held in the Senate, the bill was not passed, with 50 votes against and 49 in favor. Consequently, the initiative to halt US attacks against Iran failed at the Senate stage.
The majority of Republican senators voted against the bill. Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman was the only Democrat to vote against it.
The resolution in question had been passed in the House of Representatives in July with a vote of 214 to 208. The result in the Senate has blocked the bill from advancing in Congress.
