New details have emerged in the video analysis reports concerning the armed attack that took place on April 15, 2026, at Ayser Çalık Middle School in the Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş. The records regarding the attack, which resulted in the deaths of 9 students and 1 teacher, include footage of two children who entered the schoolyard shortly before the incident, as well as the route taken to the school by 8th-grade student İsa Aras Mersinli, who is identified as the perpetrator.
According to the reports, the movements of the two children, who were noted as not being students of the school, were captured by security cameras. Families who lost their loved ones have requested that the investigation determine whether these children had any connection to the attacker.
TWO CHILDREN'S ENTRY INTO THE SCHOOLYARD IN THE REPORT
According to the video analysis reports, a child wearing a helmet with a camera arrived at the school's main entrance gate on an electric bicycle at 13:05:56. The child waited for a short time, left the area at 13:06:12, and returned to the front of the school at 13:07:34.
It was recorded that another child on a bicycle joined them at 13:07:57, and both children entered the yard through the school's main entrance gate at 13:08:29. In his statement, physical education teacher H.T. indicated that upon realizing the children were not students of the school, he approached them, warned them, and escorted them out of the yard.
According to the camera records, H.T. approached the children at 13:09:07. The two children then left through the school's main entrance gate at 13:09:22 and headed in different directions. The reports state that there is no definitive finding regarding a connection between these two children and the attacker.
The families' request was prompted by the fact that the children arrived at the schoolyard approximately 20 minutes before the attack and that one of them had a camera on their helmet. The families have requested that these details be evaluated separately within the investigation file.
ATTACKER'S ROUTE IN CAMERA RECORDS
The reports also detailed the route Mersinli took from his home until he reached the school before the attack. According to the records, Mersinli left his home in the Haydarbey neighborhood on April 15 at 13:14:19.
Footage from in front of his apartment door shows Mersinli with a backpack, an art portfolio and a mobile phone in his hands, and headphones in his ears. It was recorded that he reached the exit of his residential complex at 13:15:53, and subsequently passed by several businesses and complexes before heading toward the street where the school is located.
According to the camera records, after entering the street where Ayser Çalık Middle School is located, Mersinli waited in front of the school for about a minute and then entered through the main gate.
The video analysis report also includes H.T.'s movements during the attack. According to this, the teacher arrived at the main entrance gate at 13:09:42 after removing the two children from the school. Upon hearing the gunshots at 13:29:46, he left the students in the yard, ran away from the school's main entrance gate, and proceeded toward the olive grove across from the school.
