US Senate rejects bill to restrict Trump's Iran attacks

In the US Senate, an initiative aimed at limiting President Donald Trump's military operations against Iran has proven unsuccessful. The resolution, jointly introduced by Democratic Senator Tim Kaine and Republican Senator Rand Paul, was not accepted in the vote held at the Senate General Assembly.

The bill stipulated that the Trump administration's attacks on Iran should be subject to Congressional approval. However, in the vote held in the Republican-majority Senate, the proposal was rejected by 53 votes to 47.

SENATE SUPPORT FOR TRUMP

The vote was the first official assessment held in Congress following the start of US military operations against Iran. With the rejection of the bill, the Trump administration has effectively received support from the Senate regarding military steps against Iran.

A similar regulation is expected to come to the agenda in the House of Representatives this week. It is stated that the vote to be held in the lower chamber could reignite political debates regarding the Iran operations.
