White House: Trump has not committed to deploying US troops to Gaza

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made statements during a press briefing regarding US President Donald Trump's remarks that "Gazans could be resettled in other countries" and that "the US will take over the Gaza Strip."

When asked whether Trump's statement that the "US will take over the Gaza Strip" meant that US troops could be deployed to Gaza, Leavitt stated that President Trump has not committed to deploying US military forces to Gaza.

Leavitt said, "The President has not made such a commitment yet. The President is ready for real economic development in the region and to rebuild Gaza for the Palestinians and all people in the region. President Trump wants to ensure that this is a place where all people can live in peace. He is a peacemaker in his own right," she stated.

Leavitt also claimed that Trump made the statement about "Gazans being resettled in other countries" because he wants Palestinians living in Gaza to "temporarily relocate" for the reconstruction of the region.
