White House: Trump to sign executive order lifting sanctions on Syria

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made statements regarding foreign policy at the White House. During the press briefing, Leavitt stated that U.S. President Donald Trump is targeting the Iranian regime's nuclear capacity in line with his goal of restoring peace in the Middle East.

The White House Press Secretary said, "The President has used all his authority, including military operations, to eliminate this threat. By removing the immediate threat posed by Iran's nuclear program, he has made not only Israel but the entire world safer."

"GAZA IS THE PRESIDENT'S PRIORITY"

Emphasizing that the ceasefire achieved between Iran and Israel through Trump's initiatives is still holding, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, "Under the President's leadership, diplomacy and deterrence have worked together. Ending the conflicts in Gaza also remains the President's priority." Leavitt noted that the Trump administration's primary goal is the release of all hostages in Gaza.

White House Press Secretary Leavitt announced that President Trump will sign an executive order today lifting the majority of U.S. sanctions on Syria. Leavitt stated, "This decision aims to promote stability and peace in Syria." Leavitt clarified that this decision does not include sanctions applied to the Assad regime, human rights violators, ISIS-affiliated groups, and Iranian proxies.

The White House Press Secretary stated, "The President is determined to engage with the new Syrian administration for a peaceful future."

"DETERMINATION AGAINST NUCLEAR THREAT, DIALOGUE FOR PEACE"

Spokesperson Leavitt reported that U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff is continuing indirect contacts with Iranian officials, stating, "The President's message is clear: resolve against the nuclear threat, dialogue for peace."

"HE FEELS PERSONAL EMPATHY FOR NETANYAHU"

Arguing that the trial process of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu complicates negotiations regarding Gaza and Iran, Karoline Leavitt said, "President Trump feels personal empathy for Netanyahu. As someone who has also gone through unjust legal proceedings, he understands his situation closely."

Touching upon the new "Golden Dome" missile defense system included in the Trump administration's defense budget, Leavitt stated that it would increase deterrence against new threats in the region. Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt added, "This system will be a shield against common threats that directly concern the security of Israel and the U.S."

Emphasizing at the meeting that the Trump administration will not abandon its search for a peaceful solution in the Middle East, Leavitt stated, "President Trump is utilizing the trio of diplomacy, deterrence, and strategic partnership together in complex files such as Iran and Syria."
