July decline in automotive sales
According to ODMD data, the automobile and light commercial vehicle market shrank by 25 percent in July compared to the same month last year.
The automobile and light commercial vehicle market in Turkey recorded a sharp decline in July. According to data from the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD), the total market contracted by 25 percent compared to the same month last year, reaching 80,786 units.
In July, automobile sales decreased by 25.79 percent on an annual basis, falling to 62,478 units. The light commercial vehicle market saw a decline of 22.17 percent, totaling 18,308 units.
The contraction in the market continued during the first seven months of the year. In the January-July period, the total automobile and light commercial vehicle market decreased by 10.72 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 638,965 units.
During the same period, automobile sales fell by 12.14 percent to 502,712 units, while light commercial vehicle sales were recorded at 136,253 units, a decrease of 5.05 percent.
