What did the former CHP veteran say about 'absolute nullity'?

The sword of "absolute nullity" continues to hang over the CHP.

We know that despite the objections of MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, pressure is being exerted on the judiciary by a clique within the Palace to issue an "absolute nullity" ruling regarding the "CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress."

To prevent this, the CHP leadership held an Extraordinary Congress on September 21, 2025, where delegates gave a vote of confidence to Chairman Özgür Özel.

However, the ongoing lawsuit does not address this congress.

In other words, the debates surrounding the 38th Ordinary Congress, where Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Özgür Özel competed and Özel emerged victorious, continue.

The fact that Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek is benefiting from "effective remorse" also shows that a decision of "absolute nullity" is being approached step by step.

Within the judiciary and the ruling faction that desires "absolute nullity," the affection for Kılıçdaroğlu is intensifying. Journalist Merdan Yanardağ, who is being held in custody in the "Espionage Case," also touched upon this in his defense.

Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu has expressed his "desire to lead the party again" several times to figures employed by the AKP-controlled media.

These are not unknown pieces of information for those who follow the corridors of Ankara and the CHP.

Recently, I spoke with a figure who served as an executive in the CHP for many years, someone who, in the cliché phrase, "knows the CHP well," and who has a dialogue with both Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Ekrem İmamoğlu.

I had a conversation with him that could be considered quite long.

The "elder of the CHP," whose opinions I sought, specifically stated that he does not want to make the CHP a subject of public debate.

He said that trolls are adding fuel to the fire. He complained quite a bit about İmamoğlu's "academic-looking" trolls and Kılıçdaroğlu's Palace-backed hacks.

He is not wrong...

I asked him, "Couldn't the issues and problems have been solved at a dinner table where everyone sat together?"

He said clearly: "Yes, it could have been fixed, but unfortunately, we could not organize it."

I also asked about Kılıçdaroğlu's stance regarding the "Absolute Nullity" agenda.

He mentioned that there is a "deep resentment."

He said that as the "wise people of the CHP," they wanted to be effective in this matter but were unsuccessful. He added that former chairmen also intervened in this issue but were unsuccessful.

I can say that he still has hope.

He finds it inconceivable that the fate of the CHP is being left to the "Palace judiciary." Although he wants to be a voice of common sense, he does not refrain from expressing the damage the "absolute nullity" issue is causing to the party and the responsibility of those who are fueling this agenda.

He insists that the party should not be designed by the "Palace judiciary."

We also talked about the process Turkey is going through, the developments in Iran and the Middle East, and the upheaval in the economy.

He also touched upon the country's need for a comprehensive amnesty.

The former CHP veteran I spoke with insisted that he has no request for any position in the coming period and that he does not want to be the subject of a new public debate regarding the CHP.

Because he is not the only one among the sensible CHP members I have spoken to who expresses these analyses.

As the country rapidly moves toward an early election, and while the formula of "one more term for Tayyip Erdoğan, then Bilal..." is being discussed, the CHP needs to resolve its internal issue as soon as possible.
