Master artist Rüçhan Çamay has passed away

Famous singer and film actress Rüçhan Çamay, known for the song 'Para Para Para', has passed away at the age of 94.

The sad news was announced by her daughter, Melike Demirağ. In a post on her social media account, Demirağ wrote, "My mother, my mother, my life partner, my companion. It will be hard without you."

Demirağ added the following note to her next post:

"My mother, my mother. Even the loved one you thought would never leave, leaves. She was an honorable artist of this Republic, who met Mustafa Kemal Atatürk when she was five years old and lived by his principles."

WHO IS RÜÇHAN ÇAMAY?

Born on May 30, 1931, in Istanbul, Rüçhan Çamay left deep marks on the worlds of music and cinema. After the separation of her mother, Mebrure Hanım, and her father, Asım Bey, Çamay spent her childhood in Istanbul and grew up in Ankara due to her mother's position at Ankara Radio. Her musical talent was discovered at an early age, and she received piano and vocal training at the Ankara University State Conservatory. At the age of 12, she participated in choir studies at the Ankara Radio Children's Club and became known for her interest in jazz music.
