Sharon Stone receives International Icon Award in Bodrum

American film star, producer, and former model Sharon Stone received the International Icon Award at an awards ceremony held in the Bodrum district of Muğla. This award was presented as part of the Golden Globe ceremony, which was held outside the USA for the first time.

In addition to 66-year-old Sharon Stone, many figures from the worlds of art and business, including famous artists Gülse Birsel, Özcan Deniz, Sıla Türkoğlu, Taro Emir Tekin, Şevval Sam, Gülseren Buğdayıcıoğlu, Mine Kaplakçıoğlu, and Nesrin Cevadzade, attended the event held at a hotel in Güvercinlik Bay. The night was hosted by Kerem Bürsin and Büşra Pekin.

Speaking to members of the press before the awards ceremony, Sharon Stone stated that it was her first time in Bodrum and that she had had beautiful experiences in Turkey. She expressed that she had visited wonderful places in Istanbul and spent an enjoyable day on a boat in Güvercinlik Bay. Stone said, "I am grateful for and honored by the support the Golden Globes have given me for years, which also supports my voice in philanthropic matters."

Speaking about the photos she took wearing a Beşiktaş jersey, Stone said, "I am a huge football fan. It was an honor for me to wear the Beşiktaş jersey. My nephew is a football coach in America. As a family, we love football very much."

Known for her unforgettable performances, Stone stated that the award held great meaning for her, saying, "I grew up in a very small town in Pennsylvania. That town was so small that it didn't even have a traffic light; children went to school on tractors. I could never have imagined traveling to distant countries like Turkey and seeing the immense beauty of this country."

Stone also emphasized the desire of international organizations like the Golden Globes to recognize the global industry and the significance of presenting awards in different locations.
