1.5 MILLION SQUARE METERS OF LAND OPENED FOR DEVELOPMENT
Stating that Kuşadası is being buried in concrete with this decision and reacting to the situation, Günel said:
"TOKİ has opened a massive amount of land for development in Kuşadası as well. A 23 thousand 240 square meter area (block 440, parcel 4) in Güzelçamlı, zoned as a Large Urban Green Space, was converted into an Urban Development Area through a plan prepared by the Privatization Administration and opened for development. The way has been cleared for residential and commercial construction in this region.
In Türkmen Neighborhood, a 900 thousand 700 square meter area (block 317, parcel 347) was converted from forest land to an urban development area by TOKİ and opened for development. The way has also been cleared for residential and commercial construction in this region.
In Türkmen Neighborhood, 193 thousand 258 square meters of land in block 317, parcels 323-166-293, were also opened for development by TOKİ. The way has been cleared for residential and commercial construction in this region as well."
CONSTRUCTION WORKS HAVE BEGUN
In conclusion, a total area of 1 million 499 thousand square meters has been opened for development by the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the Privatization Administration, and TOKİ through the creation of zoning plans. Construction has begun on a large portion of these properties. Günel stated that district municipalities do not have the authority to open land for development.
Stating that no land has been opened for development by the Kuşadası Municipality since 2019, Ömer Günel expressed that, in accordance with the Municipal Law and the Metropolitan Municipality Law, district municipalities do not have the authority to open land for development.
