Businessman Nevzat Aydın, the former owner of Yemeksepeti, has applied to the police alleging that an individual who identified himself as a member of the "Çirkinler" criminal organization threatened him.
In the complaint Aydın filed with the Beykoz Public Security Bureau on October 28, he stated that he was called from a number with the +30 country code belonging to Greece. Aydın said the person on the phone identified himself as K.A. and demanded 1 million euros.
According to the complaint, threats were made that if the money was not paid, Aydın's son would be killed. Aydın stated that the threats began after his son appeared in the ceremony for the Trabzonspor-Beşiktaş match on October 22.
Aydın also noted that he was threatened following reports claiming he had paid 100 million lira for his son to appear in the match ceremony, and stated that he reserves his right to file a complaint against those who published these reports. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the Beykoz Public Security Bureau.
