13 suspects arrested in investigation into the murder of Reyhan Acar in Adana

In the investigation conducted into the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Reyhan Acar on the street in the Seyhan district of Adana, 13 out of 15 detained suspects have been arrested.

Following the attack that took place on July 24 in the Gülbahçesi neighborhood, it was determined that the murder suspect, 24-year-old Bilal F., had traveled to Istanbul with his wife, Öykü F., after the incident.

According to police findings, the couple moved toward Edirne with the intention of fleeing abroad. It was revealed that while traveling by car along the route to the border crossing, Bilal F. and Öykü F. noticed a police checkpoint, spent the night in a sunflower field, and subsequently returned to Istanbul.

As a result of a pursuit lasting approximately 48 hours, Bilal F. was detained at a pet store in Istanbul, and Öykü F. was detained at a residential complex. At the address where Öykü F. was staying, Şeyhmus Y., who had a finalized 37-year prison sentence for murder, was also apprehended.

Operations were carried out in Adana and Istanbul targeting suspects believed to have assisted Bilal F. in his escape. During the operations, Fırat T., Yusuf Y., Emre K., Baran D., Seymen Ö., Halil Can A., Emrah Ç., Murat A., Veli Ö., Nurullah D., Bilal D., and Kemal B. were taken into custody.

Following their processing at the police station, suspects Öykü F. and Yusuf Y. were released under judicial control. The 13 suspects, including Bilal F., were arrested by the court to which they were referred.

Reyhan Acar had been subjected to an armed attack on 13362 Street in the Gülbahçesi neighborhood of the Seyhan district and lost her life at the hospital to which she was transported by medical teams.
