6 nuclear scientists lose their lives in Israel's attack on Iran

The scientific community has suffered heavy losses in the recent airstrikes carried out by Israel against Iran. According to Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency, six of Iran's leading nuclear scientists lost their lives in the attacks.

The attacks, which Israel carried out in the early hours of the morning, targeted strategic cities such as the capital Tehran, as well as Tabriz, the Natanz nuclear facility in Isfahan, Lorestan, and Kermanshah. Both military centers and civilian residential areas were struck during the operations.

The names of the nuclear scientists who lost their lives in the attacks were announced as follows: Abdulhamid Manouchehr, Ahmad Reza Zolfaghari, Amir Hossein Faghihi, Motlabizadeh, Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi, and Fereydoun Abbasi.

Among those lost are individuals who held critical roles in Iran's nuclear program. For instance, Fereydoun Abbasi once served as the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran and survived an assassination attempt attributed to Israel in 2010. Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi was serving as the Rector of Islamic Azad University.

HIGH-LEVEL MILITARY LOSSES REPORTED

The attacks targeted not only the scientific community but also the highest ranks of the Iranian military. It was announced that Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri and Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Major General Hossein Salami also lost their lives in the attacks.

CIVILIANS ALSO TARGETED

The targeting of civilian settlements in many cities, especially in Tehran, has made the scale of the attack even more controversial. According to initial reports, a large number of civilians have lost their lives, and dozens have been injured.
