8 suspects detained in Gülistan Doku investigation referred to Erzurum Courthouse
Eight of the 18 suspects detained in the 4th wave operation conducted across 15 provinces have been brought to the Erzurum Courthouse following their testimony procedures.
Eight of the 18 suspects detained in the 4th wave operation conducted as part of the Gülistan Doku investigation have been referred to the courthouse.
Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices of Erzurum and Tunceli, simultaneous operations were conducted this morning by Erzurum Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams against 19 suspects across 15 provinces.
It was stated that during the investigation, following statement analyses and technical, digital, and field studies, findings were obtained that raised suspicions of irregularities and tampering with evidence regarding the actions and procedures of certain law enforcement personnel during the judicial process conducted after Gülistan Doku's disappearance.
Searches were carried out at 21 addresses during the operation conducted in Nevşehir, Istanbul, Isparta, Bilecik, Bursa, Çanakkale, Ordu, Aydın, Diyarbakır, Kayseri, Ankara, Erzincan, Eskişehir, İzmir, and Antalya.
Within the scope of the operation, proceedings were initiated against a total of 19 people, including 1 police chief, 1 police superintendent, 1 chief inspector, 1 inspector, 1 chief police officer, 10 police officers, 1 computer operator, and 3 retired police officers. 18 of the suspects were detained.
Eight of those detained were brought to the Erzurum Courthouse under heavy security measures following their testimony procedures at the gendarmerie and police stations. It was learned that the suspects' testimony procedures at the courthouse are ongoing.
