An arrest warrant has been issued for Halk TV owner Cafer Mahiroğlu on charges of rigging public tenders.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Cafer Mahiroğlu, who is alleged to have interfered in tender processes as part of an investigation into a criminal organization accused of organizing tender processes by bribing municipal mayors.
The warrant for Halk TV Chairman of the Board Cafer Mahiroğlu was issued within the scope of an investigation into a criminal organization allegedly founded by Aziz İhsan Aktaş.
The following statement was made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office:
"Within the scope of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office investigation file numbered 2024/236201, regarding the crimes of establishing and managing a criminal organization, rigging public tenders, bribery, money laundering, and violating the Tax Procedure Law, investigation proceedings have been initiated against suspect Cafer Mahiroğlu for the crime of rigging public tenders following findings that he interfered in tender processes, based on the statement taken from and research conducted on suspect Aziz İhsan Aktaş. An arrest warrant has been issued by the Istanbul duty magistrate judge for the suspect, who has been determined to have traveled abroad.
