Arrest warrant issued for Sinem Dedetaş
An arrest warrant has been issued for Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş.
Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş, who was detained as part of an investigation into the Üsküdar Municipality, has been arrested along with Alihan Koçoğlu, Burçin Çevik, and Bülent Orhan Tozkoparan. Deputy Mayor Ceyhun Ünlü and Adem Altıntaş were released under judicial control conditions.
The court has issued its ruling regarding the suspects detained in the investigation conducted into the Üsküdar Municipality.
The criminal judgeship of peace ordered the arrest of Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş. Alihan Koçoğlu, Burçin Çevik, and Bülent Orhan Tozkoparan were also arrested as part of the same investigation.
TWO INDIVIDUALS RELEASED UNDER JUDICIAL CONTROL
Deputy Mayor Ceyhun Ünlü and Adem Altıntaş, who were brought before the judge as part of the investigation, were ordered to be released under judicial control measures. The two individuals were released subject to a travel ban and other judicial control conditions.
“ORGANIZATION LEADERSHIP” ACCUSATION
Üsküdar Mayor Sinem Dedetaş was referred to the duty judge with a request for her arrest. The referral document alleged that the acts subject to bribery and extortion charges were carried out "within the scope of the activities of a criminal organization for profit led by Sinem Dedetaş."
The prosecutor's referral document stated that the investigation is being conducted under charges of "establishing and being a member of an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," "bribery," and "extortion."
The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reported that evidence in the investigation file includes tips, witness and victim statements, testimonies of suspects benefiting from effective remorse, digital materials, MASAK reports, civil inspector examinations, and findings by the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
KENT A.Ş. ALLEGATION
The referral document alleged that some contractors applying for building permits were directed to the municipal subsidiary Kent Hizmetleri A.Ş. and forced to sign contracts under the guise of "consultancy services."
