Breaking News... 11th Judicial Package officially in effect: Releases have begun

With the 11th Judicial Package accepted by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey coming into effect, releases have begun in penal institutions. It was reported that the necessary preparations within the scope of the regulation have been completed and the implementation has been put into effect as of today.

STATEMENT FROM MINISTER TUNÇ

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç shared with the public which crimes were excluded from the scope in his statement regarding the regulation. Tunç listed one by one the types of crimes that will not benefit from the execution regulation.

CRIMES EXCLUDED FROM THE SCOPE

According to Minister Tunç's statement;

Intentional killing crimes committed against ascendants or descendants,

Spouses, divorced spouses, siblings,

Children,

Persons who are unable to defend themselves physically or mentally,

Crimes committed against women,

Killing crimes resulting from the collapse, destruction, or damage of buildings or other structures due to earthquakes,

Crimes against sexual immunity,

Terror crimes and crimes committed within the scope of organizational activity

were kept outside the scope of the Judicial Package.

PREPARATIONS COMPLETED IN PRISONS

Minister of Justice Tunç stated that all preparations regarding the regulation in penal institutions have been made, saying, "As of today, the procedures for convicts who will benefit from the regulation have been initiated."

According to the statement, release and other procedures for convicts who meet the conditions to benefit from the execution regulation have been officially initiated in the relevant prisons.
