Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that new operations have been carried out as part of the investigations into the Ahbap file and the Gülistan Doku case. 13 suspects have been detained in the Ahbap investigation, and 18 in the Gülistan Doku case.
Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek made a statement on his social media account regarding the operations conducted, primarily concerning the Ahbap Association and the Gülistan Doku investigation.
13 PEOPLE DETAINED IN THE AHBAP FILE
It has been learned that 13 people were detained in the fourth wave of operations carried out within the scope of the "Ahbaplar Criminal Organization" investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Regarding the investigation, Minister Gürlek stated, "In the 4th wave of the 'Ahbaplar Criminal Organization' investigation coordinated by our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 13 suspects were apprehended and detained by our Istanbul Provincial Police Department. Within the scope of the investigation, housing and container purchases, suspicious real estate transfers, checks issued by the association, and financial and commercial relations are being examined in all aspects."
GÜLİSTAN DOKU INVESTIGATION: 18 NEW DETENTIONS
On the other hand, 18 suspects were detained in simultaneous operations conducted in 15 provinces as part of the Gülistan Doku investigation, due to suspicions of tampering with evidence.
In his statement, Minister Gürlek included the following: "Within the scope of the Gülistan Doku investigation, a simultaneous operation was organized against 19 suspects in 15 provinces by our Erzurum Provincial Gendarmerie Command under the coordination of our Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. In the operation carried out after suspicions arose that some law enforcement officers had tampered with evidence during the investigation process, searches were conducted at 21 addresses, and 18 suspects were detained."

"Under the leadership of our President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, shoulder to shoulder with our Ministry of Interior; we continue our fight with determination against structures that exploit the good intentions and donations of our citizens, attempts to prevent the clarification of unsolved cases, and illegal betting networks targeting our youth.
In this context, judicial proceedings have been initiated against a total of 112 suspects in three separate operations carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department, Erzurum Provincial Gendarmerie Command, Mersin Provincial Police Department, and Provincial Gendarmerie Command under the coordination of our Istanbul, Erzurum, and Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices.
In the 4th wave of the 'Ahbaplar Criminal Organization' investigation coordinated by our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 13 suspects were apprehended and detained by our Istanbul Provincial Police Department. Within the scope of the Gülistan Doku investigation, a simultaneous operation was organized against 19 suspects in 15 provinces by our Erzurum Provincial Gendarmerie Command under the coordination of our Erzurum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. In the operation carried out after suspicions arose that some law enforcement officers had tampered with evidence during the investigation process, searches were conducted at 21 addresses, and 18 suspects were detained.
Under the coordination of our Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, detention warrants were issued for 80 suspects in two separate investigations conducted regarding illegal betting and the laundering of assets derived from crime. An transaction volume of approximately 20 billion liras has been detected in the bank, crypto asset, and payment institution accounts belonging to the suspects.
On this occasion, I would like to thank our Istanbul, Erzurum, and Mersin Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, which have meticulously conducted the investigations; our Istanbul and Mersin Provincial Police Departments, our Erzurum and Mersin Provincial Gendarmerie Commands, and all our public officials who took part in the operations.
Our state is holding those accountable for the donations our citizens entrusted to be delivered to those in need, lifting the veil of mystery over unsolved and dark events even years later, and not leaving the future of our youth to the mercy of illegal betting and criminal organizations.
