In the footage shared on social media, M.A.İ.A. (19) is seen telling his 16-year-old sister, "Get on your knees and apologize," before pouring the boiling water he was holding onto her.

The horrifying footage reached thousands of users in a short time and drew massive backlash on social media.

It was learned that M.A.İ.A. (19), who was apprehended by the Manisa Provincial Police Department teams, had harmed himself with a knife while being taken into custody.

After undergoing a medical check-up at Manisa City Hospital, the suspect was transferred to the police station to have his statement taken.

In a statement made from his social media account, M.A.İ.A. stated that he carried out the act due to a matter of honor and also insulted those who reacted to him.

STATEMENT FROM THE MANISA GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

In a written statement regarding the matter, the Manisa Governor's Office said, "Regarding the footage shared on some social media platforms on 03.10.2025, showing a 19-year-old individual in Manisa committing violence against his 16-year-old sister and pouring boiling water on her, the investigation determined that the suspect who committed the act is M. A. İ. A (19); he has been apprehended and a judicial investigation has been initiated. Necessary protective measures have also been initiated by our Ministry of Family and Social Services unit for the child who was subjected to violence."
