Company owner Seyit Doğan began searching for sponsors by acting with the image of a channel owner through companies and media structures established within the holding, and recruited many media workers with promises of high salaries. He claimed that they had obtained the necessary TV frequency for national broadcasting and would soon be on air. During this process, an application was also made to the Press Advertising Agency (BİK) to generate advertising revenue.
When the founding team could not receive their payments and resigned, Doğan formed a new team. From September 2025 to May 2026, salaries were paid with a delay of at least 15-20 days; before the Eid al-Adha holiday, 11 people were laid off. These employees were given promissory notes due in August in exchange for their receivables, but these payments were never made.
'YOU ARE NOT WORKING' ACCUSATION OVER A SITE THAT HAS BEEN INACCESSIBLE FOR TWO MONTHS
While the workers were working tirelessly for the website, the site's broadcast was stopped when the web designers' salaries were also not paid. Subsequently, the employees were accused with the words, "You haven't worked for two months, are you asking for a salary?" citing the site that had been inaccessible for two months. Salaries for the May-October 2026 period were never paid; in meetings held with the company, employees were constantly stalled with promises of "today, tomorrow."
The channel was shut down at the end of October. When the media workers shared their grievances on social media, they began to be threatened by the bosses. The bosses called some employees, saying they would pay their salaries but would take those who made posts about them to court.

The workers, who initiated legal proceedings for their receivables, were faced with the reality that the bosses had no assets registered in their names. Despite this, the company owners continue to conduct job interviews to form a new team with promises of high salaries again. Seyit Doğan, who does not pay the workers' rights, tries to portray himself as a victim by saying, "They ate my millions of dollars, they deceived me."
WE WANT ALL OF OUR RIGHTS
Demanding the fruits of their labor, Kanal 6 workers came together with the 'Patronların Ensesindeyiz' (We Are on the Bosses' Necks) Communication Workers Solidarity Network to explain the problems they experienced and established the Kanal 6 Workers Solidarity Network within the network. Emphasizing that they will expand the struggle, the workers expressed their demands at the end of the meeting with these words:
"We want to receive our unpaid monthly salaries and all our severance pay. We will continue the struggle until we receive all of our rights and so that our other media worker friends do not experience the same grievances."
