CHP Press Spokesperson Müslim Sarı: We have no chance of holding a convention under current circumstances

Müslim Sarı, appointed as Press Spokesperson by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who became CHP Chairman following a ruling of absolute nullity, stated, "Under the current legal situation of the CHP, there is no chance of holding a convention, regardless of the method used. There is a decision rendered by the relevant regional administrative court, and it is a decision that has not yet become final. There is a Court of Cassation stage. On a legal ground where there is an interim injunction, it is impossible to convene a convention, whether signatures are collected, the Party Assembly (PM) makes a decision, or the chairman says 'we are going to a convention'."

Sarı, who announced the names in Kılıçdaroğlu's 'A-Team', also responded to questions regarding a convention. 

Sarı said the following:

According to current law, this is impossible. In fact, our friends in the process of collecting signatures know this very well, too. We are not against a convention; we want to hold a convention.

We also want to talk to these friends. We want to create a roadmap together that can lead the CHP out of the predicament it has fallen into.

Ultimately, these discussions within the CHP will of course be resolved with a convention. We will sit down and talk with our friends who want the convention to be convened as soon as possible. No one is an outsider, no one is a member of another party. We are keeping our doors of dialogue wide open in a spirit of cooperation."
