CHP responds to AKP's Kurtulmuş after he says 'I will use my powers'

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş reacted to Deputy Speaker Gülizar Biçer Karaca having the Constitutional Court's ruling on Can Atalay read in the General Assembly, stating, "I declare that I will use my powers derived from the Constitution and the internal regulations."

"YOUR ADVISORS ARE MISLEADING YOU"

CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir also responded to Kurtulmuş via his social media account.

In his statement, CHP's Emir noted the following:

"Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş has expressed that Deputy Speaker Gülizar Biçer Karaca and Clerk Member Sibel Suiçmez acted in violation of the internal regulations and that he will use his powers derived from the Constitution and the internal regulations against them.

Mr. Speaker, your advisors are misleading you! There is no violation of the internal regulations, nor do you have any sanctioning authority as Speaker. If you ask the advisors who told you this to share with the public which articles specify the irregularity and your powers, you can easily understand that they are misleading you."
