Claim: Turkish Armed Forces on alert against possibility of attack on Iran

Sources stated that Turkey has changed the priority of NATO air surveillance activities in the country in response to a possible U.S. attack on Iran. It was noted that AWACS radar aircraft stationed at the base in Konya are monitoring Iran more frequently, and according to the sources, this situation is being evaluated as part of Washington's preparations for an attack targeting Tehran.

According to the report, the situation Turkey fears most is not geopolitical risks, but rather a demographic and economic crisis. Given that it is already hosting 3 million Syrian refugees, it is stated that there is concern that a war breaking out in Iran could cause hundreds of thousands of Afghan and Pakistani migrants living there to head toward Turkey. According to the report, establishing new refugee camps along the border line is a priority against a large-scale migration wave scenario. However, in the event that the crisis escalates, the possibility of the Turkish Armed Forces entering Iranian territory to create a buffer zone is also being evaluated.
