Criminal complaint to the Court of Cassation regarding the 'opening' commission! 'It is unconstitutional, parties should be shut down'
Doğru Party leaders Rifat Serdaroğlu and Cezmi Orkun have filed a criminal complaint with the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation, arguing that the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission established in Parliament is unconstitutional. They have requested that closure cases be filed against the parties that are members of the commission.
Former Minister of State for Health and Customs and Chairman of the Doğru Party, Rifat Serdaroğlu, along with Deputy Chairman Cezmi Orkun, will file a criminal complaint with the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation against the parties that have provided members to the commission established in Parliament as part of the new 'opening' process.
As reported by Sözcü columnist Saygı Öztürk, the petition states that the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission constitutes a violation of the Constitution.
Excerpts from the petition are as follows:
“The main goal of the AKP-MHP-DEM alliance is to promote Abdullah Öcalan from the status of a convict to that of a political leader and to legitimize him. This commission, which could destroy the nation-state by calling it 'national solidarity' and open the ground for a federation by calling it 'brotherhood and democracy,' should actually be called a 'commission for committing crimes' and should be questioned by the Turkish judiciary.”
The petition, which states that the commission has no legal basis, includes the following statements:
“The commission has no legal status. No one can exercise a power that does not derive its source from the Constitution. The establishment of this commission, where the demands of the PKK will be discussed, is contrary to the Constitution. Discussing the demands of the terrorist organization PKK in Parliament is an imposition by the US and the UK. The primary goal of these countries is first to remove the Tigris-Euphrates basin from Turkish sovereignty, and then to share all of Turkey's natural resources and rare earth elements.”
The petition also included the following request:
“At this point, the political cadres governing the country do not recognize the national identity and are striving to impose another identity in its place. Under the slogan of a 'Turkey without terrorism,' they are establishing a commission to discuss the demands of the terrorist organization in Parliament.
We respectfully submit and request that you file a 'closure case' against the political parties that have committed the crime of 'violating the Constitution' and have provided members to the commission, and that the result be communicated to us.”
It was learned that the petition will be delivered to the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation today.
