Decision from the Beyoğlu District Governorship: 24-hour ban imposed!

The Beyoğlu District Governorship has announced that all events in open areas within the district have been banned, citing that calls for gatherings made via social media for June 29, 2025, could endanger public order. The ban will be in effect for 24 hours starting from 00:01.

In the statement issued by the District Governorship, it was stated: "Pursuant to Article 17 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911 and Article 32 (ç) of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442, all activities such as meetings, demonstration marches, press statements, distribution of leaflets, and sit-in protests in all open areas of our district have been prohibited."

MEASURES TO BE TAKEN

The statement indicated that Taksim Square and key points in its vicinity will be closed off with barriers. Taksim Square, Gezi Park, Sıraselviler Street, and the section of Istiklal Street up to Tünel Square will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Controlled passage will be provided when deemed necessary.

Furthermore, it was stated that considering potential social incidents that may occur in the district, traffic flow may be halted at different points if needed.
