DEM Party Spokesperson Doğan: Every day, another segment of society is targeted and attacked
DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan reacted to the access bans imposed on social media accounts and the operations targeting LGBTI+ individuals.
Reacting to the recent operations and access bans, Ayşegül Doğan said, "Even someone looking at what is happening in the country from afar could conclude that these events are aimed at undermining the Peace and Democratic Society Process."
Stating that these events are aimed at undermining the 'Peace and Democratic Society Process,' Doğan asked, "In an environment where every day another segment of society is targeted, attacked, and where division and polarization are deepened, how can it be possible to believe in or convince others of peace?"
In a post shared on her social media account, Doğan used the following expressions:
"Even someone looking at what is happening in the country from afar could conclude that these events are aimed at undermining the Peace and Democratic Society Process.
In an environment where every day another segment of society is targeted, attacked, and where division and polarization are deepened, how can it be possible to believe in or convince others of peace?
Supporting the process becomes possible only through the strengthening of democracy.
The blocking of X accounts belonging to human rights defenders, journalists, writers, and Academics for Peace is unacceptable in an environment where we talk about peace and democracy. The access ban on social media accounts is a serious intervention against freedom of expression and association. Defenders of the right to life, journalists, writers, and Academics for Peace will not be silenced! All of us being safe is only possible through law, democracy, and freedoms."
