Dilan Polat's request for release denied

A new development has occurred in the case of social media influencer Dilan Polat, who is being tried while in custody on charges of "preventing the laundering of proceeds of crime," "violating the Tax Procedure Law," and "violating the law on the regulation of betting and games of chance in football and other sports competitions."

Polat's request for release, which had been previously submitted with incomplete documentation, was re-evaluated today. The Anadolu 4th High Criminal Court rejected Polat's request for release.

ABOUT THE CASE

The investigation conducted by the Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into 24 suspects, including Engin Polat and Dilan Polat, for the crimes of "preventing the laundering of proceeds of crime," "violating the Tax Procedure Law," and "violating the law on the regulation of betting and games of chance in football and other sports competitions" had been completed.

In the indictment prepared and accepted by the high criminal court, it was requested that Dilan and Engin Polat be sentenced to a total of 20 to 40 years in prison each for the crimes of "establishing and managing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," "laundering assets derived from crime," and "violating the Law on the Regulation of Betting and Games of Chance in Football and Other Sports Competitions."
