Disabled child subjected to violence by family in Gebze taken under state protection

In the Gebze district of Kocaeli, scandalous footage of a mother, S.Ç., and a father, M.Ç., beating their disabled son, H.K.Ç., on the apartment stairs was captured by security cameras.

Following the horrifying footage, the mother and father were taken into custody.

The Ministry of Family and Social Services reported that H.K.Ç., who was subjected to violence, has been taken under state protection.

The statement included the following:

"Following the report on January 30 that a disabled child was subjected to violence by their mother and father, our provincial directorate teams took immediate action. After the necessary procedures were completed, our disabled child was taken under state protection. As the Ministry, we will be closely following the legal process to ensure that the individuals who committed the violence receive the necessary punishment by intervening in the case."
