Ekrem İmamoğlu's first assessment after the absolute nullity ruling: The issue is serious, it is above parties

The 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice has issued an "absolute nullity" ruling regarding the CHP convention case.

According to the ruling, while Özgür Özel, who enabled the CHP to become the leading party after 47 years, and his administration are suspended from duty as a precautionary measure, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and his administration will return to office. The CHP stated, "We do not recognize the ruling."

The CHP Ankara Provincial Presidency called on party members to "gather at the Headquarters." Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, speaking to a pro-government media outlet following the decision, used the phrase, "May it be auspicious."

FIRST MESSAGE FROM İMAMOĞLU AFTER THE RULING

While reactions to the ruling continue, a message also came from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained in Silivri.

İmamoğlu said, "The nullity ruling issued is null and void. It is not just a coup against the CHP; it is a coup against Turkey, democracy, and the Republic. It is the destruction of the constitutional order."

Stating that "The issue is serious. It is above parties," İmamoğlu called out, "It is time for the nation to stand up for Turkey."

The post announced from İmamoğlu's "Presidential Candidate Office" account is as follows:

"We are determined to fight together against the political coups carried out by the Erdoğan mentality through the judiciary. 

The nullity ruling issued is null and void. It is not just a coup against the CHP; it is a coup against Turkey, democracy, and the Republic. It is the destruction of the constitutional order. 

The issue is serious. It is above parties. It is time for the nation to stand up for Turkey."
