Eren Erdem resigns from CHP after being referred to disciplinary board

In a post on his social media account, Erdem announced that his party had referred him to the disciplinary board. Following this, Erdem declared that he had resigned from the CHP.

Erdem's statement is as follows:

“1-) I have been REFERRED TO DISCIPLINE by my party due to my call for individuals who have been alleged in the past to have ties to the 'gang of five' not to be made 'CHP Mayoral candidates,' and the reaction I showed after a person known to everyone, MURAT ONGUN, targeted me with 'anonymously managed accounts employed for a fee'!

2-) I did not throw Atatürk's chair in front of my party!

I did not curse at previous or current Chairmen!

I did not engage in influence peddling!

I did not get my spouse, friends, or relatives hired in CHP municipalities!

I entered politics 'as someone who pays rent, and I still live the same way!'

I did not secretly support other parties during election times!

While the party was in the election period, I did not drop everything to hold 'party design meetings'!

3-) Without obtaining any personal gain, without expecting a penny from politics, I even risked leaving my beloved child without a father for nearly 2 years. My personality was thrown before a conspiracy judiciary! I didn't say a word! I was eventually acquitted, but I considered what was done to my mother, my family, and my child as a price paid for my party!

4-) At the point we have reached, due to the paid personnel of one of our municipalities and the relations of that personnel within the party; because of 'my reaction to the gang of five and my stance against the troll attacks directed at me,' even though THE INCIDENT IS KNOWN TO EVERYONE and it is known by everyone that the relevant trolls are 'fed by the complainant MURAT ONGUN'; my party has referred me to discipline WITH A REQUEST FOR EXPULSION!

5-) I am warning the party management!

Didn't this person's 'paid anonymous accounts' lynch Ali Mahir Başarır and force him to repent due to his speech where he 'expressed that Özgür Özel could be a Presidential candidate'?

If the person who will set the party's course, teach it a lesson, and determine the party's attitude regarding the 'gang of five' is 'a municipal employee (MURAT ONGUN),' if he has been granted these privileges, if the party is to be designed with 'paid anonymous accounts,' and if you are turning a blind eye to this, rest assured that this situation will hurt you the most tomorrow!

6-) If you turn a great 100-year-old plane tree into a toy for 'mayors' through communication tricks and perception operations, and have their paid clerks 'purge the party's children,' this audacity will target you the most tomorrow. And you will not be able to do politics...

7-) It is clear that a very healthy path cannot be pursued with a vengeful and exclusionary mindset that has not yet emerged from the psychology of the congress, that 'reminds every party member they see of their stance at the congress,' and that makes one think it has not grasped the difference between being in power and being powerful, with the sentiment of 'let's be in power no matter how; even if it means compromising with the existing order,' and with a mindset that aims to purge those who were against it at the congress by creating excuses!

IN THIS CONTEXT, I cannot surrender my will to a person who was rewarded by a mayor and made 'YDK (High Disciplinary Board) Chairman' because he cursed at Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu while he was still a district head!

For this reason, I am resigning from my party, of which I am honored to be a member.

As I have done until today; I entrust my will and my honor to my party organizations.”
