Fake first lieutenant swindled 59 thousand liras

According to the information obtained, a suspect who contacted 85-year-old Ramazan F., residing in the Yahşiler neighborhood of Denizli's Tavas district, by introducing himself as a first lieutenant, scared the elderly man with the lie that he was involved in a fraud case. The suspect, who convinced Ramazan F. by telling him that the money in his house was counterfeit and that he needed to give it to him for examination, took the elderly man's 59,600 TL and disappeared. Realizing he had been swindled when the fake military personnel did not return, the elderly man reported the incident to the Denizli Provincial Gendarmerie Command.

A comprehensive investigation was launched by the Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT), the detectives of the gendarmerie, and the Tavas District Gendarmerie Command teams to catch the suspect who swindled the elderly man. In the studies carried out under the coordination of the Tavas Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was determined that the suspect who carried out the fraud was 30-year-old Mazlum D. Mazlum D., who was caught at his address in Aydın as a result of a successful operation by the gendarmerie teams, was taken into custody. During the search of Mazlum D.'s address, 2 unlicensed pistols and materials related to the fraud were seized.

Mazlum D., whose interrogation at the gendarmerie was completed, was referred to the Tavas Courthouse. It was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
