FETÖ operation against kunefe chain in 5 provinces
As part of an operation launched in İzmir, 33 people have been detained in raids targeting a kunefe chain alleged to have links to FETÖ/PDY.
Under the instruction of the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Counter-Terrorism and Intelligence branches of the Provincial Security Directorate carried out a large-scale operation against a kunefe chain in order to uncover the current structure of FETÖ/PDY.
In line with information provided by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), detention warrants were issued for 41 individuals alleged to have collected or provided funds on behalf of the organization, and for whom criminal evidence was identified in digital materials. Simultaneous raids were conducted this morning, centered in İzmir and extending to Istanbul, Hatay, Gaziantep, and Manisa.
As a result of the operation, 33 suspects were apprehended, while searches of the addresses yielded 100 thousand TL in cash, 33 Republic gold coins, 2 grams of gold, and numerous digital materials and documents. It was determined that seven suspects had fled abroad through illegal means, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend another suspect identified as being within the country.
