FKF and the Revolutionary Party take to the streets on NATO's anniversary: They will leave as they came
The Revolutionary Party and the Federation of Idea Clubs (FKF) are continuing their nationwide anti-NATO campaign titled "They Will Leave As They Came." At tables set up across the country, they are collecting signatures demanding Turkey's withdrawal from NATO and the seizure of NATO bases.
On the anniversary of NATO's founding, demonstrations were held in 10 locations in Ankara, including Sokullu, İlker, Ayrancı, Mamak, Batıkent, Etimesgut, Sakarya Street, Kuğulu, İncirli, and Kolej, as well as in many locations in Istanbul such as Şişli, Kurtuluş, Alibeyköy, and Kadıköy.
In a statement issued by the Revolutionary Party and the FKF, it was said: "We are raising our voices from our campuses as the FKF on the anniversary of NATO's founding, amplifying the struggle for an independent Turkey that we inherited from Deniz, Mahir, and Harun;

They Will Leave As They Came!"
The full text of the statement is as follows:
"Turkey Must Withdraw from NATO
The imperialist war organization NATO was founded 77 years ago today. Designed during the Cold War to encircle the Soviet Union, this dirty organization has continued to commit crimes against humanity over the last 35 years in the absence of the socialist system.

NATO functions as a cover for the hegemony of US imperialism and as a coercive apparatus for multinational monopolies. For 77 years, it has been NATO that has stood against the possibilities of humanity freeing itself from the system of exploitation, particularly in Europe and across the world. Throughout the Cold War, the alliance embodied in NATO stood against colonial peoples fighting for their independence. The redesign of European countries with a concept of war against socialism and the suppression of revolutionary movements in these countries also took place under NATO command. Every corner of Europe was filled with American bases; tens of thousands of American soldiers and American weapons were stationed at these bases, and state mechanisms were restructured as envisioned by US hegemony. NATO transformed Europe into an outpost of US imperialism.

Since joining this dirty organization in 1952, Turkey has also had its share of NATO's crimes. The ruling powers, who turned their backs on the imperialists with the dishonor of showing hostility toward our friend the Soviet Union—which had sincerely supported our War of Independence—handed over Turkey's economic and military sovereignty to the US through NATO. To curry favor with the US, they made our country a partner in the occupation by sending troops to Korea without even obtaining parliamentary approval. Our country was filled with American bases, and these bases were used in crimes committed against the socialist system and our neighbors. State institutions, primarily the military and intelligence, were redesigned by the US; establishment politics came entirely under US control, and Turkey's financial, technological, and military dependence on US imperialism was deepened. The children of the US acted as guardians of the system of exploitation in our country through military coups and unsolved murders, and our country was made a partner in crimes committed against the peoples of the world, from Afghanistan to Yugoslavia, and from the Middle East to North Africa.

The imperialist war organization NATO continues to commit new crimes against humanity and to make our country a partner in these crimes. This dirty organization will meet in our country in July. Just as in the year following the 2003 invasion of Iraq, they have begun the countdown for a summit they will hold in Ankara in the aftermath of Syria being handed over to jihadist gangs, the massacres in Gaza entering their third year, and in the midst of an imperialist attack on Iran. This criminal organization, which has been guarding the interests of multinational monopolies for 77 years, will once again update its roadmap and assign new roles to our country. They will discuss ways to once again station occupation armies in the cities we liberated from the enemy 100 years ago during the War of Independence, and how to threaten our sovereign rights over the straits, which were registered by the Montreux Convention, as well as peace and security on the Black Sea coast.

It is time to once again utter the words spoken in the last century, on the days when the imperialist powers thought everything was over the moment they took control of the Sultan and his cronies who were enjoying themselves in the palace: They will leave as they came!

On the 77th anniversary of the imperialist war organization NATO, we say once again: The honor, independence, and security of our country depend on breaking free from NATO and the shackles of the US. Turkey must withdraw from NATO, American bases in our country must be seized, and all foreign soldiers must be expelled immediately."
