Fluid buildup detected in Murat Çalık's surgical site
Murat Çalık, who was rushed to the hospital at night due to health complications following surgery, has completed his treatment. An ultrasound scan revealed fluid accumulation at the surgical site, and Çalık has been transferred back to prison to have his health condition monitored.
Murat Çalık, who was arrested as part of an investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and placed in the Buca High-Security Penal Institution, experienced a serious health issue due to complications following an operation. Çalık, who has previously undergone cancer treatment twice and had two bone biopsies during his detention, underwent surgery on January 13 at the İzmir Katip Çelebi Training and Research Hospital due to a mass found on his neck.
After being transferred back to prison following the operation, Çalık was subjected to further health checks two days later due to reasonable complaints regarding the surgical site. He was taken to Bayraklı City Hospital, particularly due to fluid accumulation and increasing pain at the surgical site during the evening hours.
An ultrasound performed at the hospital confirmed fluid accumulation in the operated area. Additionally, as signs of an open wound and infection were detected, a dressing procedure was performed to mitigate the risk of infection. Doctors emphasized the importance of changing the dressing regularly.
Following treatment throughout the night, Çalık's health condition was stabilized, and he was transferred back to Buca Prison. The medical team stated that Çalık's general condition will continue to be closely monitored.
