New details emerge in the hotel scandal that became a grave for 76 people in Bolu: The Governor of Bolu gave a plaque to the hotel owner!

The hotel tragedy in Bolu, where 76 people lost their lives, is witnessing a new scandal with every passing minute.

According to a report by Patronlar Kulisi, it was stated that Halit Ergül, the owner of the Gazella Resort Hotel in the Karacasu district of Bolu, was presented with a "Green Star" plaque in 2015 by the then-Governor of Bolu, Aydın Baruş, for environmentally friendly facilities.

During the construction of the Gazella Resort Hotel, a project change was made to avoid cutting down a 309-year-old oak tree, and an additional 1 million dollars was spent.

Ergül had defended this situation by saying, "We made a great effort not to harm nature." However, with today's fire disaster, the extent to which such environmentally sensitive practices align with safety measures has begun to be questioned.

At the ceremony held in 2015, Bolu Governor Aydın Baruş praised the Gazella Resort Hotel for being environmentally sensitive, stating, "With the construction of these facilities, a serious quality will come to the service sector. In this sense, I congratulate the very valuable owner of the hotel, Mr. Halit, who leads the service sector in our province and sets an example for other facilities, as well as all his employees."

NOTHING IN THE HOTEL

However, the absence of a fire escape on the exterior of the hotel is among the reasons that increased the scale of the disaster.

It has emerged that the awards and environmentally friendly investments from 2015 fell short in terms of security vulnerabilities and endangering human life, and that deficiencies were overlooked.

It is observed that the partnership structure of the Gazella Resort Hotel is similar to that of the Grand Kartal Hotel in Bolu.

Halit Ergül, Elif Aras, Ceyda Hacıbekiroğlu, and Emine Murtezaoğlu are in the management of both hotels. Like the Grand Kartal Hotel, the share distribution at the Gazella Resort Hotel was also made equally.
