New legislative proposal to be submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey!

With the new legislative proposal prepared by AKP deputies, the prison sentences for those who carry and possess unlicensed firearms and the administrative fines applied for the use of unauthorized flashing lights in traffic will be increased.

With the legislative proposal concerning the Ministry of Interior and the security sector, which was prepared under the leadership of AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler and is expected to be submitted to the Speaker of the Parliament this week, the prison sentence for those who carry and possess unlicensed firearms will be increased, and the administrative fine imposed on those who use unauthorized flashing lights or roof beacons will be raised to 150 thousand liras.

PRISON SENTENCES AND ADMINISTRATIVE FINES ARE INCREASING

According to the proposal planned to be submitted to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, prison sentences will also be given to those who sell, carry, or facilitate the entry into the country of main parts of firearms such as barrels, triggers, and firing mechanisms.

The lower limit of the prison sentence for those who carry and possess unlicensed firearms will be increased from 1 year to 2 years, and the upper limit will be increased from 3 years to 4 years. With the legislative proposal, those who possess and carry unlicensed firearms will be sentenced to 2 to 4 years in prison.

In order to increase deterrence regarding the use of unauthorized flashing lights and roof beacons in traffic, the amount of the administrative fine will also be increased. Those who install flashing lights and roof beacons on their vehicles will be fined 150 thousand liras.

The proposal submitted to the Speaker of the Parliament will also include regulations aimed at eliminating the differences between the administrative and working conditions of Coast Guard, Gendarmerie, and Police personnel.
