Sadettin Saran's Forensic Medicine report sparks controversy: 'I find it hard to trust the Forensic Medicine Institute'

Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Sadettin Saran, who was detained yesterday at his presidential office following allegations of "supplying drugs," "facilitating drug use," and "drug use" after testing positive for drugs, has become a major topic of public discussion.

Journalist Deniz Zeyrek evaluated the analysis results of the biological samples taken from Sadettin Saran. Zeyrek stated that the results obtained from urine, blood, and nail samples came back clean.

According to the information provided by Zeyrek, cocaine and cocaine metabolites were found in Saran's hair sample. Zeyrek stated that this result should be evaluated in conjunction with the absence of cannabis metabolites.

“DEBUNKS CANNABIS SPECULATIONS”

Deniz Zeyrek included the following statement in his article:

“This result primarily debunks the speculations that Saran was growing and using cannabis or that he was having conversations about cannabis/hemp in his messages with Ela Rümeysa Cebeci.”

Zeyrek recalled that Sadettin Saran stated he does not use cocaine and has never even physically seen cocaine in his life. Following this statement, he included evaluations regarding the Forensic Medicine Institute.

“I FIND IT HARD TO TRUST THE FORENSIC MEDICINE INSTITUTE ONE HUNDRED PERCENT”

Deniz Zeyrek used the following expressions in his article regarding the Forensic Medicine process:

“Under normal circumstances, we should trust the results of the Forensic Medicine Institute one hundred percent. However, since I know a little bit about how things work at the Forensic Medicine Institute, I find it hard to trust them one hundred percent.”

TECHNICAL EXPLANATION FROM A FORENSIC MEDICINE EMPLOYEE

Following this assessment, Zeyrek shared information he obtained from a conversation with a Forensic Medicine employee. According to the information provided:

Drug use from one or several days can be detected through urine and blood samples.

In hair samples, data can be obtained retrospectively for three to six months, depending on the length of the hair.

For this reason, the fact that blood and urine tests are clean, when evaluated together with the presence of drugs in the hair, can mean that the substance may have been used in the past rather than recently.

NAIL DETAIL DRAWS ATTENTION

The following information was also shared in the statement regarding nail samples:

Drug data can be obtained for approximately three months from fingernails and up to six months from toenails.

For this reason, it is stated that a substance detected in the hair is also expected to be found in the nails.

It is noted that the detection of a substance in the hair that is not present in the nails could make the analysis result suspicious.
