Testimony of the serial offender who attacked the CHP leader revealed

The testimony of Selçuk Tengioğlu, a serial offender and child killer who attacked CHP leader Özgür Özel yesterday, has been revealed. In his initial police statement, the attacker said he attended the ceremony because he sympathized with Sırrı Süreyya Önder and did not enter the AKM building.

UNEMPLOYED FOR 2-3 MONTHS

In his statement, the attacker said he had been unemployed for the last 2-3 months.

It was revealed that Tengioğlu, who came to Istanbul in 2020 and had been staying in an apartment in Beyoğlu for 2 years, said in his testimony, "I am staying in an apartment in Beyoğlu, I pay 4 thousand liras in rent per month. On the day of the incident, I saw Özgür Özel coming out. Then I attacked."

WORKED AS A DISHWASHER, WATCHMAN, AND CARPENTER

It was determined that Tengioğlu, who previously worked as a dishwasher, watchman, and carpenter in Alanya, came to Istanbul four years ago after being released from prison.

"MY HAND WENT UP SPONTANEOUSLY AND I STRUCK"

The suspect, who stated that he never entered the AKM on the day of the incident and was outside the whole time, noted that he realized Özgür Özel had suddenly come very close to him and reportedly said, "My right hand went up spontaneously and I struck him. I had not planned this action until that moment. It came to my mind at that moment and I did it."

THE FIEND WHO KILLED HIS CHILDREN

It was revealed that the attacker, who was taken into custody by the scruff of his neck after the attack, had killed his 2 children in 2004, shooting 19-year-old Barış and 17-year-old Mutlu with a gun, and then killing them with a bread knife when he realized they had not died.

RECEIVED PSYCHOLOGICAL TREATMENT

As a result of the police investigation, it was determined that Selçuk Tengioğlu had served 16 years in prison for killing his 2 children in the past and had received psychological treatment in Adana for a period.
