According to the statement made by the Hakkari Governor's Office, schools have been closed for one day due to heavy precipitation expected to begin at night and continue until the morning hours.

The Governor's Office statement is as follows:

"Due to heavy precipitation, including regional snow and rain, which is expected to begin during the night hours across our province and continue its effect in the morning, and taking into consideration other factors such as the risk of flooding and overflows, education and training in all preschools, kindergartens, primary and secondary education institutions, as well as private education courses, public education centers, and guidance and research centers—excluding higher education institutions—will be suspended for 1 day on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, throughout our province. Pregnant and disabled personnel working in public institutions will also be considered on administrative leave on the aforementioned date."
