The Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) has completed the fourth day of its 'Freedom March', which was initiated for Hatay MP Can Atalay, whose prison sentence in the Gezi Park Trial was upheld by the Court of Cassation.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu expressed his support for Baş in a post on his social media account.

İMAMOĞLU: I SUPPORT THE MARCH

İmamoğlu stated, "I support the march initiated by the Chairman of the Workers' Party of Turkey, Mr. Erkan Baş, for the elected MP Can Atalay. It is thought-provoking that while it is free to enter an election, it is considered forbidden to win one. It is a necessity to completely change the understanding of politics in Turkey, which is being squeezed into a narrow space in every respect, for the construction of true democracy and justice."
