Illegal forex operation in Istanbul: 174 suspects apprehended, 1.5 billion lira in assets seized
In an operation targeting illegal forex fraud in Istanbul, 174 suspects were apprehended; 80 vehicles and 12 properties were seized.
In an operation conducted regarding allegations of illegal forex fraud in Istanbul, 174 suspects were taken into custody.
In the study carried out by the Istanbul Police Department's Cyber Crimes and Migrant Smuggling Combating branches, structures evaluated to be involved in "International Illegal Forex Fraud" were targeted.
Within the scope of the investigation, 40 call centers and financial offices affiliated with 25 companies, as well as the suspects alleged to be managing these structures, were identified.
Assets worth approximately 1.5 billion TL were seized in the operation. Additionally, seizure procedures were carried out for 80 vehicles and 12 properties.
It was reported that efforts regarding fraud, criminal organizations, and money laundering activities are ongoing.
