Individual who slapped club president arrested

Footage of Sakaryaspor Club President Gökhan İn being assaulted has received widespread attention across the country. C.Ş., the club's advertising and sponsorship manager who slapped President İn, was apprehended and detained by Sakarya Public Security Branch teams in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, shortly after the incident.

Brought to Sakarya and having completed his police processing, C.Ş. was referred to the courthouse at around 15:00.

The individual, who was handcuffed behind his back and taken to the courthouse, was arrested and sent to prison.

HE STATED IN HIS TESTIMONY THAT HE COULD NOT CONTROL HIMSELF

It was reported that in his statement to the police, suspect C.Ş. claimed he could not control his temper following the argument that broke out, saying, "We worked together on the board. An argument broke out regarding problems within the management. Because of that, I could not control myself." Additionally, C.Ş. alleged that the club's former Vice President S.İ., who resigned from his post on August 29, 2024, was also present during the incident and claimed he did not know how the footage was leaked.

Efforts are also underway to apprehend the club's former Vice President S.İ., who resigned on August 29, 2024, and is alleged to have recorded the footage of the incident that has dominated the national agenda. Meanwhile, attempts are also being made to reach Gökhan İn, whose phone has been turned off since the footage emerged.
