Following consecutive changes in duty within the fields of Justice and Interior, it is claimed that a new appointment process is on the agenda for the police force. In the corridors, it is stated that various names are being discussed for the General Directorate of Security.
Journalist İsmail Saymaz reported that, following the recent changes within the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior, there is an expectation of activity within the police force as well.
According to Saymaz, regulations regarding deputy ministers were made after Yılmaz Tunç took office. In this context, it was stated that Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor Fatih Dönmez was assigned to a post in Istanbul.
NAMES BEING DISCUSSED FOR THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF SECURITY
It is noted that claims regarding the potential removal of the current incumbent, Mahmut Demirtaş, are being voiced in the corridors of the Ministry of Interior. It is stated that seven different names are being discussed in ministry circles as potential successors to Demirtaş.

In Saymaz's article, the names mentioned for the General Directorate of Security were listed as follows:
- Suat Çelik, Chief Advisor to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) and former Head of the EGM Private Security Supervision
- Aziz Yıldırım, General Director of Personnel at the Ministry of Interior
- İlhami Aktaş, Governor of Kocaeli
- Mustafa Çalışkan, Deputy General Director of Security
- Mahmut Çorumlu, Deputy General Director of Security
- Ömer Urhal, Deputy General Director of Security
- Selami Yıldız, Istanbul Police Chief
- Emphasis on Internal Appointment
The report also included assessments that the police force would look more favorably upon the appointment of an internal candidate to the position of General Director.
On the other hand, Saymaz also reported that Ankara Police Chief Engin Dinç is expected to retire due to age limits in approximately two months.
