Large-scale drug raid in Istanbul: Over 257 thousand pills seized
As a result of a comprehensive operation carried out by the gendarmerie in Istanbul, 257 thousand 850 drug pills were seized, and two suspects taken into custody were arrested and sent to prison.
Teams from the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, under the coordination of the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, conducted a large-scale operation targeting drug manufacturers. According to the information obtained, a total of 257 thousand 850 drug pills were seized in the raid, which was carried out with the support of the Gendarmerie General Command's Department of Anti-Narcotic Crimes.
Two suspects identified as being involved in drug trafficking were apprehended by the teams. Following the investigation conducted against them, the suspects were brought before the court, arrested, and sent to prison.
In the statement made regarding the operation, it was stated, "We never give opportunities to drug dealers. With the determined and devoted work of our security forces, we continue our operations against drugs across the country without interruption. We congratulate our heroic Gendarmerie, our Department, our Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, our Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and those who contributed."
Security units stated that they will continue to act with determination in the fight against drugs and will not allow criminal networks that threaten public health to operate.
