Lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz announced: The objection to journalist Barış Pehlivan's detention has been rejected!
Lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz announced that the objection filed against the detention of journalist Barış Pehlivan, who is being held at Maltepe Open Prison, has been rejected.
The objection filed on behalf of journalist Barış Pehlivan, who is being held at Maltepe Open Prison, against the decision rendered by the execution judgeship has been rejected. Lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz shared the rejection decision on his social media account.
Ersöz used the following expressions in his post:
"The objection we filed on behalf of journalist Barış Pehlivan against the Execution Judgeship decision was rejected by the Silivri High Criminal Court.
Despite there being no legal obstacle to him being granted a supervised release decision under the 'new execution regulation' that came into effect in July, journalist Barış Pehlivan continues to be held at Maltepe Open Prison.
We will initiate the processes for 'Correction in Favor of the Law' and an individual application to the Constitutional Court against this decision; however, if an acquittal is not issued at the hearing in November for the case cited as the reason for the revocation of his supervised release, Barış Pehlivan will continue to remain in prison until March 2024."
Gazeteci Barış Pehlivan (@barispehlivan) adına İnfaz Hakimliği Kararına yaptığımız itiraz Silivri Ağır Ceza Mahkemesi tarafından reddedildi.
